| 1395328 | 2015-03-01 23:00:00 | +1 for the Brother Laser printers. We've got an HL-2140, and it's been great  Also haven't had an issue with third party toners so far;have been careful with where we've gotten them though. |

| 1395329 | 2015-03-02 04:12:00 | I have the HP Envy 4500 E (www.jbhifi.co.nz) from JB WIfi on special for $47 (odd how they now almost doubled in price) which I bought mainly for scanning documents, forms, birth cert's etc. Never really gave thought to ink costs - rather any costs of not really using it. So the inks dissappear? Or cause blockages? HP have a cool "printables (www8.hp.com)" feature for instantly downloading forms, puzzles, news, recipes, cocktails, calendars, etc - may suit families with school kids. Plus plenty of apps - though I suspect as do the other printer manfacturers. My last HP printer (HP110) served well as a phone and mini coffee table, as difficult to sell on TM as too many for sale. |

The cartridges are not airtight. After opening, they dry up eventually. The ink in the printheads dries up too... then you have to use even more ink to clean them again when you get a new cartridge. If you are printing regularly, you won't have a problem, but then you'll be buying new ink regularly, and your wallet might dry up instead. |
