Whats interesting is this happened in November last year. At a press conference on Wednesday, deputy commissioner Mike Clement said police had "many persons of interest" in their hunt for the person who mailed 1080-laced packets of infant formula to authorities in November with a threat to contaminate retail supplies unless the Government stopped using 1080 poison. After months dealing with the threat away from the public eye, police had moved into a new phase where they wanted the public's help. "I'm confident the public will solve this," Clement said. Police revealed the threat on Tuesday and confirmed that the blackmailer had given a deadline of the end of March for a response. |

In Malawi it was an offense for a woman to show a leg above the knee, but topless was Ok. No screaming babies, all blissfully slurping away, while their mothers' got on with their chores. Is their any chance that the reduction in breast feeding is the cause of the increase in breast cancer? |

| 1396166 | 2015-03-11 19:39:00 | Sigh.........I didnt want to join in this argument but.......................breastfed versus bottle is just so dum. you do what is best for baby and mum. Yes i breastfed my children, for a long time, my daughter tried, but it effected her health, ( former anorexic and anemic) so her health deteriorated, she lost weight and couldnt cope looking after baby, baby also began to lose weight as she just couldnt master the art of feeding and her milk wasnt any good. so the choice was bottle, so we could help. baby has not looked back, and mother is still battling the effect of anemia and a very low iron - so IV infusions been statred to get her healthy again. life is not all black and white. some people can feed and some people cant. who's health is more important? Dum idea to infect formula................... but it got the sensationalist media on board..............lets just hope now its is a hoax.......... cos we have a baby too young to start on cows milk here.......... we will be checking cans and hoping its all just a story. :( |

| 1396167 | 2015-03-11 19:42:00 | Seems like only a few agencies had the powdered 1080 that was contained in the threat mailed to Fonterra and FF This would narrow down the search of who is responsible after going through their spouses ,contacts,emails and social media touchie feelie stuff ,bit like a bread crumb trail World markets would want a positive result in who is responsible ,makes one wonder about a connection with the Fruit Fly find as if any Nation that would want to inflict a hit to NZ as a food trading nation this would be the way to go about it Remember years ago an official said that if NZ ever got Foot and Mouth disease it would arrive in a Briefcase |
