Xtra & Google mail come thro ok. Hotmail does not. The acct page says it is an HTPP server. What does that mean? Can it be POP instead? Thanks. PJ

1406382 2015-08-13 08:47:00 Sooo...we now have W10 installed. But I still have a beef about Hotmail. Neither Maryann or I can use Hotmail. Apparently MS has made Hotmail into Outlook.com. This has made computer life a little more difficult. Has anyone got it sorted yet? Thanks. PJ Poppa John (284)
1406383 2015-08-13 09:38:00 Hotmail, Live mail, Outlook ( online version) all the same thing now. A Hotmail sign-in works fine in outlook.com /Outlook.co.nz. All you do is type your email as you normally would youremail @ hotmail.com

Hotmail changed over September 2012

Does that mean we have to install Outlook.com? PJ

1406385 2015-08-13 09:57:00 Does that mean we have to install Outlook.com? PJ Nope, outlook.com is only a web site.

www.outlook.com

Only using this as an example, you would enter your real hotmail user name & password

1406386 2015-08-13 10:04:00 W...I am a bit lost here...again.

Now on W10 & wanting to get rid of the Live Mail . Back on XP I was happy with that Outlook Express. I am surprised that being all MS, that Hot mail would work, it does not for me. I will have another look at it tomorrow. PJ

1406387 2015-08-13 12:01:00 If you install (or already have) windows live mail - then you can get (and send) all your Hotmail mail (and all your other mail accounts - wife's mail etc) on your computer using pop 3 just like you did with the original Hotmail .....

That's what I have used since Hotmail (the pop3 mail client) was discontinued 2 1/2 years ago!

I have 2012 version, your link shows 2011. Was that intentional? PJ
