1406038 2015-08-06 23:47:00 Ok, I hope this hasn’t been covered in one of the other threads but here goes anyway.

What I want to do is download an ISO image of Win 10 along with current updates onto a DVD via an XP machine.

Then, when the time comes, I can update a mates 8.1 Laptop.

He hates 8.1 so I’ll need to be able to roll back if he finds 10 even more confusing.

:thanks

I see the USB Creation tool here, not sure if you follow the links if it takes you to the ISO: . microsoft . com/en-us/software-download/windows10" target="_blank">www . microsoft . com

1406040 2015-08-07 00:25:00 Good luck finding the updates. You may find one of them, the rest arent on the download site

You run the tool to select the version you want and select ISO

1406041 2015-08-07 00:28:00 He would be better doing the upgrade himself because there would be a lot less pitfalls ie Home or Pro

This is the Tool www.microsoft.com will do the upgrade plus down load ISO for a clean install

windows.microsoft.com

Start reading up on it

1406043 2015-08-07 01:36:00 You cant download them tho Speedy Gonzales (78)
1406044 2015-08-09 22:07:00 Well I went with psycik’s suggestion of using a flashdrive.

I made the flashdrive bootable with "Rufus" (what a neat little standalone programme) and now have the iso image expanded onto the flashdrive. Yet to be tested so here’s hoping.

This just leaves the issue of all the updates.

Now there seems to be a conflict of information on Google about this so I wonder if we can get a definitive answer as to if it is possible to download them (read save) and install them as required?

I’m thinking along the lines of one update causing trouble and needing to be uninstalled or reinstalled.

I wouldn’t want to be uninstalling and reinstalling all the patches every time one crashes the system.

:thanks
