My sound on my laptop is physically damaged on the motherboard (power surge) If I buy a creative external sound blaster live usb product will I be able to hear sound or does my onboard sound have to be working correctly? |

Im pretty sure it would be fine .. tho im not a tec .. so maybe see what others say first.

The external unit fully replaces the onboard sound. Carrying around the external unit might be a bit of a pain, have you looked at the PCMCIA version? I think its a lil more expensive but your laptop retains it mobility. |
