479812 2006-08-21 05:34:00 After a computer crash I seem to have lost windows explorer.
I found this useful for moving files and folders . Can I download windows explorer from somewhere or can anybody recommend a similar free program where I can view the folders and shuffle them around.

479816 2006-08-21 09:05:00 Did rebooting the computer return Windows Explorer? What OS is this?

Did you just mean you lost the shortcut or icon to Window Explorer? If you go into My Comuter and click on the C drive, what happens?

I get a list of the folders in C drive but when I click on a folder I get the files in an icon presentation but how can I get a list of files on the right and also the list of folders on the left so that I can drag files from one folder to another like I used to do in windows explorer ?

479818 2006-08-22 05:27:00 Hi heaton. If I understand your problem..... when you get the icons in the right hand part of the screen look along the toolbar for a square icon which will tell you that it is the "Views" icon. On that select either List or Details. Unless it is a graphics folder I tend to work with Details. Scouse (83)
479819 2006-08-22 06:24:00 You mean you get a split type screen, whereby the left-hand pane shows all the files and folder in a tree display, and the right-hand pane shows the contents of the folder you have selected?

Try right-clicking on the Start Button and then select Explore. Does this give you what you want?

479820 2006-08-22 07:09:00 Try right clicking on your desktop and choosing create new shortcut, call it Windows Explorer and in the Target box put:
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe

In the Start in box put:
%HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%
