479918 2006-08-21 21:35:00 Is this the Netscape webmail you are using as I didn't realise they had an email client? Not sure about the latest Netscape, but previous one's had a built-in client called Netscape Messenger. I seem to recall Netscape ditching it in ver 8. Greg (193)
479919 2006-08-21 21:39:00 I use the two so as to utilise the different strengths of the two clients.

I like to send / reply on Incredimail and receive and save on Netscape as Incredimail is not as reliable as Netscape, but not as boring.
Unless you have your emails set to "leave a copy on server", then you would only see the mails downloaded to the email program you are currently in. It won't download to both.

So have you got it set to leave copies on the server?

479920 2006-08-21 21:51:00 I receive messages, and I can send messages, on both. That is not my problem. I just want to know how I can stop getting the email that is floating around in the ether and keeps popping back into Netscape NOT Incredimail. It is the exactly same one as the original right down to the time and date 8/8/2006 12.07 pm. Puru (11026)

How do you manage to reply to an email with Incredimail which has been received in Netscape unless you have them set to leave messages on server and you get the same email in both programs.

That could be what Puru does do but against that, apparently the repeating email isn't seen via webmail. If the messages are left on the server it's possible that Netscape has lost track of what it has downloaded already.

479923 2006-08-22 01:19:00 Thank you PaulD you understand.

All I want to do is for someone to tell me what to do to get rid of these repeating emails. I sent an email. I had an answer - that is being repeated, I told the sender, she answered and THE ANSWER IS NOT REPEATED.

479924 2006-08-22 01:39:00 Bit of a curly one. Sounds to me like Netscape has got itself into some kind of loop due to some kind of corruption somewhere.

I'm not a Netscape user and have never even looked at it so I'm not sure that the Inbox can be deleted or not via Windows Explorer like the Outlook Express Inbox can. Maybe you could try deleting all the summary files as suggested in this thread (sillydog.org).

479925 2006-08-22 01:47:00 I agree Foxy.

Sounds like Netscape has a corruption and does not recognise that it has actually downloaded that particular email so keeps on doing so.

This assumes that the original poster is leaving a copy of all emails on the ISP server, something that they have not yet confirmed despite the requests. Simply deleting that email off the server would confirm it (although that might just move the problem to another email message, if Netscape is the problem).

479926 2006-08-22 02:01:00 He said they do not show in Xtra webmail so it would be unusual to keep receiving a message that is not on the server.
I would still like to see the full headers of the offending message.

Puru when you go to Xtra webmail are any messages showing there at all, if not then you do not have leave on server selected which is something we are not yet sure about.

479927 2006-08-22 02:05:00 In a nutshell. The email is not on Xtramail's server. Incredimail received it once. Netscape receives it over and over and over again. Both email clients are set to leave the email on the server; forever in Incredimail's case and two days for Netscape and yet it keeps on popping up in Netscape.

Thanks to everyone for their help so far, keep those thinking caps on.
