an update on my school website project. I wanted all the pages (excluding index) to be slap bang centre on the screen no matter what resolution you're browsing at. The pages all have the same title & navigation. however the title & navigation jump up or down a bit depending on the content in the main table...

YOU WONT SEE THIS. because I have fixed it. using an iframe and replacing the main table. thus making the title and nav never move and look like a frame themselves.

however. when i display the pages in Firefox the iframe is left aligned... even with align="center" in the iframe page and iframe tag on the parent page.

any idea what i can do to fix this? thanx. james

This is a good reason not to use any type of frames. What happens when google indexes the iframe, the link will have the same result as the link above.

Suggest you revise your idea, maybe an include file or similar, or even a template would be better than using frames.

479885 2006-08-22 05:11:00 whats those?

i found out that

<p align="center">
before the iframe fixes it. however it also makes the frame have margins since <p> is similar to <br>

any way to have <p> without any margins?

479886 2006-08-22 05:14:00 ah seems i have fixed the margin problem by re placing the <p> tag. i know frames officially suck. however... it just works so well in this case that i'm willing to use it
should i remove the meta tags from the framed pages then? so it google doesn't index them seperately
