| 480134 | 2006-08-23 09:52:00 | If u want to block ads, just right mouse on the site / block content and block it. Thats if ur using v9+. its about time they added that - the single most common complaint I've heard from people who have tried opera is that it required too much effort to block ads. |

My vote goes to Firefox. I have tried Opera but I don't like the look or feel of opera. you do know that almost everything is changeable? i personally don't like the look of default opera. i always mod it to my liking. It's good to see competition breaking the browser stagnation. |

| 480137 | 2006-08-23 16:11:00 | I remembered the main reason I disliked Opera, its not as customisable as FireFox, graphically, or certain features (like getting the Google toolbar to open a search in a background tab WITHOUT having to use mouse gestures or keyboard combinations (in other words, using right click menus) | Myth (110) | ||

If I could show you all the other customisations I have done I would but how I use Opera is probably totally different to how you use it . Customising it to your own preferences is a huge amount of fun and the Opera forums is full of great ideas and new tricks to try . As for your Google toolbar issue I'm not really sure exactly what you want to do but I would be pretty certain Opera can do what you want . The right-click menu is quite extensive and you can add even more options if you wish . Right-clicking an image gives you this menu ( . pegasus . icebytes . co . nz/miscell/images/opera-rightclick-image . jpg" target="_blank">www . pegasus . icebytes . co . nz) and right-clicking a link gives you this menu ( . pegasus . icebytes . co . nz/miscell/images/opera-rightclick-link . jpg" target="_blank">www . pegasus . icebytes . co . nz) . Is that what you mean? If you like shortcut buttons you can get lots from this thread ( . opera . com/community/forums/topic . dml?id=145608" target="_blank">my . opera . com) or even make your own on the page listed in the first post on that page . This page here ( . com/archives/2005/01/opera-and-firefox-extensions" target="_blank">virtuelvis . com) gives the Opera equivalents of a small number of Firefox extensions . |

Here (www.pegasus.icebytes.co.nz) is a screenie showing a small part of it. |

| 480142 | 2006-08-23 22:55:00 | If u want to block ads, just right mouse on the site / block content and block it. Thats if ur using v9+. Ah, so you can. I just found the following info on this page (virtuelvis.com): Opera 9 offers an integrated ad blocker out-of-the-box. When you are on a page, just right-click on the page, and select Block Content. When you do this, the page greys out, and you can start clicking on images and plug-in content to block it. Holding down shift when clicking an image or plug-in content blocks that specific image/embedded object. If you go to Tools -< Advanced -< Blocked content menu. You will be presented with a list of the already blocked content. You can edit or delete these entries, or add your own. The URLs added uses simple wildcard syntax. All I need do now is find some ads to try it out on <hugs Hosts file>. :D |

That does look good, i'll have to give it a try this weekend two quick questions though does it allow you to outline elements eg tables, images, divs does it allow you to edit CSS on the fly in the same way FF web dev extension does?
