480672 2006-08-25 04:48:00 I am haveing a problem with my mobo, everytime I download a large file my PC shuts down as if someone unplugs it, after long extensive research, it seams the problem is with the mobo ittself, I contacted MSI and they contacted me back with a new BIOS that is not on thier site yet, they sent it to me as an attachment, it has the BIOS version 1.45 in it, I try to flash the BIOS and nothing happens, is it possible they sent me a 32 bit version? I am running Windows XP Pro x64 bit Edition. Would this possibly be the problem I am having trying to flash the BIOS? I know I am doing it correctly, they even sent me step by step instructions. Any idea what to do? haybailz17 (11016)
480673 2006-08-25 04:55:00 And how did they show u how to flash it? From floppy or a usb flash disk??

Not from within windows?

480674 2006-08-25 05:26:00 I know how to flash, I upgraded the BIOS already from ver. 1.2 to ver. 1.3.
I had to make a bootable floppy for 32 bit, by going to bootdisk.com. But when I do the same with ver. 1.45 they just sent me, the floppy makes that horrible sound like it is reading the floppy disk, then goes back to the "A:" prompt, with no error messages of any kind.

480675 2006-08-25 06:27:00 Contacted MSI again and had them send me the file again, this time they sent me a different file, Ver. 1.47 instead of 1.45, was able to flash BIOS, no problems now, everything is great, just have to give props to MSI for fast response to my problem! haybailz17 (11016)
480676 2006-08-25 06:30:00 They may have given u a dud 1.45 update. At least its working now. Speedy Gonzales (78)
