| 480480 | 2006-08-24 10:30:00 | . . . . you have alost 2 grand for a pc . Would that set you up a decent mix of all 3 interests? (surfer as in surfing net 3-4 hours a day) Would you sacrifice gaming to get better music qualities? Anyone can point me in the right direction? The reason I ask is I can surf the net looking and reading specs, but I do not really inderstand what im reading . TIA  Basically need a tough PC that has to be upgradable at least and can handle a fairly decent input of live music . |

| 480486 | 2006-08-25 01:32:00 | We'd need to know what bits you need - complete system or just the box? Upgrade box or the entire thing? Budget Gaming System Asus M2V motherboard - PCI-E, Dual Channel, Via K8T890/VT8237a, GB Lan, SATA 2, RAID, 6ch Audio AMD 64 3200+ Socket AM2 CPU, 1Gb DDR2-533 Seagate 200Gb SATA Hard drive ASUS 16x Dual layer DVDWriter ASUS 7600GT 256Mb Graphics, CreativeXW555 5.1 Speakers Thermaltake Silver Swing Case with 400w PSU Thermaltake Silver/Blue keyboard/mouse Combo, AOC 176S 17" LCD Monitor, Windows XP Home Total inc GST $1,995.00 This is budget, the graphics card is very minimal for gaming. And as you also want music - well, depends, I manage fine with onboard sound but for quality you would want a decent sound card. Perhaps with digital dolby out? They can cost up to $500. |

| 480487 | 2006-08-25 05:43:00 | The budget could be a down payment I guess. Max i would go is 4 grand. Upgradable I mean I could add on hardware at a later date (musicwise, say midi or mixers). When it comes to gaming though, thats the part i do not know about. |
