| 480739 | 2006-08-25 23:23:00 | Firewire would be better, but u need a firewire card if it isnt onboard. Is SP1 or 2 installed? Does the laptop have firewire on it? |

| 480742 | 2006-08-25 23:30:00 | how do i check to see if lappy has this Go to system look under network adapters in device manager. Is there an entry there called 1394 net adapter?? If its here it has firewire. Or double click on my network places if its on the desktop / view network connections. If theres a 1394 connection icon here, its got firewire. |

| 480744 | 2006-08-26 00:20:00 | Yup, all u need is a firewire cable. Since firewire is onboard the laptop. I would take your laptop and cam into someone like Dick Smith. I take it, youre in NZ? You're after one of these (dse.resultspage.com 717&site=&w=firewire+cable&submit.x=0&submit.y=0) XP does have Movie Maker as part of it. Update to 2.1 if you havent updated to 2.1 yet. Its not too bad, but there are other programs around (they may not be free tho). And if the cam has a video/camera/off switch, remember to switch it to one of these options. XP will detect it then. And let u use it. |

| 480745 | 2006-08-27 04:27:00 | Im confused ive just read a review of this camcorder and it says that you cannot transfer to pc although the manuels that came with the cam says it can using USB 2 . Other group discussions say that usb2 is only good for transferring still images and is hopeless for transfer of video files with a noticable drop in quality. At this moment in time i just wanna know how to hook the damm cam up to lappy and what cable i have to buy so i can have a go any help guys would be appreciated cheers ness_2 |
