480856 2006-08-26 19:36:00 You dont need so many firewalls.

Uninstall 2. It looks like you're running NIS, Zonealarm and Nortons Personal Firewall. They'll start conflicting with each other.

480857 2006-08-26 19:53:00 ok i have just found a new problem that causes it to crash, just before i loose the connection i get an error on screen it says "generic host process for win32 services has encountered a problem and needs to close sorry for the inconvience" and then when i click on more information it says "EventType : BEX P1 : svchost.exe P2 : 5.1.2600.2180 P3 : 41107ed6
P4 : netapi32.dll P5 : 5.1.2600.2180 P6 : 411096ac P7 : 0000a3c0
P8 : c0000409 P9 : 00000000 " just about to run hijackthis will post a reply to that in a mo.

Is Windows up to date with updates?

This forum (forums.whirlpool.net.au) has the exact same crash error.

It looks like it has something to do with a patch / vulnerability, or maybe remnants of something.

And / Or this update (www.microsoft.com)

It may also be the 3 firewalls that are installed conflicting with each other.

480859 2006-08-27 09:42:00 I'm not sure if this is related but I've found my Xtra connection has frozen every now and then over last few days, it keeps coming up that page isn't found, after a few refreshes it comes through. It's as if no data is being transferred then it goes through ok. I've noticed some high ping spikes and disconnects in games too. Most annoying.

I wonder if there's an Xtra problem?

480860 2007-06-21 05:02:00 Try to remove unneccessay PC functions and you may locate the reason earlier. What Web browser are you using. Try another one and see if that fails. Before it locks up push "Cntr+ Alt+ Delete" This will open Windows task manager, Check performance Tab. If I am on internet approx 11% at idle. But will go up if search is still running Check Applications running. You may have multiple or many ones running. Stop ones you don,t need. Check processes. What one"s are using all memory being used. Once aware of above when it locks up do same items as above and try to find out any extra or unusual ones. I have found that at times Internet Exployer lock up my PC If I stopped it in taSK MANAGER I could just restart it without rebooting. Advocar (1098)
480861 2007-06-21 12:25:00 11% is rather high for idling - what other processes are you running? Erayd (23)
