| 481027 | 2006-08-27 22:15:00 | Hey guys, Just wondering if you guys have had any experience with automated entry of forms into a database through OCR software? I'm trying to get forms scanned and parsed so that they can be read into the database (all I need is the text, I can make a program to do all the rest). What hardware is required? I'm guessing there will be industrial type scanners that can process hundreds of sheets of paper, rather than manually swapping sheets like a standard printer. Know of any brands? The software I've been looking at is OmniPage/pro, but the forms I've written have boxes which can be shaded in, so these would need to be interpreted. I could write my own software once I have all the images in one place but sounds like a lot of effort! Cheers, David |
