| 480907 | 2006-08-27 05:03:00 | getting an error when i defrag C drive with o&o on win xp pro.i havent figured out what the error is associated with.some google results are MFT ,forced re-bootup causes for error but very limited or no info to help resolve. Action carried out: CHKDISK Status: Error: File system is damaged. Windows reports : Errors on volume C: (NTFS) have been found. Event Id :12 I have tried to figure out the error with no luck. things it have tried are chkdsk /r in windows recovery console, fixmbr and fixboot.ghosted image of C: and scanned with no errors reported...looked for bad sectors with WD software. one thing i did notice was very small MFT on C: (about 73 megs) where as other drives are 1gig and up. ran out of places to look....any help figureing out what the error relates to and a fix would be greatly appreciated, since i am not likeing the idea of a fresh install :( |
