| 481776 | 2006-08-31 22:37:00 | Either go to Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > File > Export and save the file somewhere on your hard drive, eg the Desktop, or get one of these extensions: www.pikey.me.uk for backing up the bookmarks or http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ for backing up your Firefox profile. |

| 481779 | 2006-08-31 23:51:00 | Very many thanks to all respondents. I used the Mackin_NZ and FoxyMX method and have now saved the file to the hard disk. Don't know why I didn't spot that! Misty, I had checked that file and found that it contained nothing - thanks for the suggestion anyway. FoxyMX, thanks for the pointers, I'll check out the extensions after I've completed the reformat and reinstall Bill |
