| 481375 | 2006-08-30 05:58:00 | Greetings all. The title sums up the problem I am having now. Whenever I disconnect my Xtra dial-up connection, and reconnect it few minutes later when there is a need, I can't access the Internet! IE and Firefox report "Cannot find server" error message and MSN Messenger asks me to check my Internet connection (and yeah, I have checked through IE's offline setting, but to no avail). And yes, there is a little icon with two monitors in the system tray (indicating connection has been established) when I reconnect. This problem also arises whenever I wake my computer from hibernate or standby mode. No positive result as well when I tried pinging popular websites via Command Prompt. I have done the usual anti-malware scanning, but nothing foul came up. The HJT log also appears to be clean. OS: XP Home Cheers :) |

| 481377 | 2006-08-31 10:13:00 | if ZA or Nortons is installed I wouldnt be surprised if either have turned off their proxy service. Which will stop u going anywhere after u connect. Until u restart the service. |
