| 482179 | 2006-09-03 00:24:00 | BF1942 is still popular as some people have had a gutsful of BF2 (mostly the ones of us past their teenage years). Many of us play online on the NZ Servers or Aussie servers, recently participating in an Aussie-run competition where a group of us formed an United NZ BF clan and were stiffed by the Aussies in the semis due to their refusal to have a level playing field (ie playing on servers where our pings were at least twice or three times theirs for the semis - whereas they were ok playing on NZ servers during the round robins), but I digress... NZ Battlefield (http://bf2.nzbattlefield.com) has some BF42 info in their forums. Join it and look in the 'Non BF2 Gaming' thread. I still use ASE for BF42, but X-Fire (http://www.xfire.com/) is a better game browser. If you have problems connecting try using the in-game connect to server option and try 210.55.92.69 Port 20140, which is the standard Xtra BF1942 server. If that doesn't work check you have Punkbuster enabled and install the PB SetUp file to update it (www.punkbuster.com). Hope this helps ya. |
