482690 2006-09-05 04:57:00 am looking at gettting broadband with slingshot and see that they offer a single port modem and a 4 port modem. What is the difference between these two modems and why would I require four ports instead of the one ?

thanks

482692 2006-09-05 05:14:00 A single port modem means only 1 PC can use the net at any one time, to get another PC on the net you will need to manually swap the cables.

With a 4 port, 4 PCs can connect at any one time without the need to swap connections...

It all comes down to how many PCs are you wanting on the net?
