482932 2006-09-06 09:13:00 Hi everyone,

Can anyone recommend a good open-source content management system? I've heard of a few - Joomla, Mambo (which are now the same, I think), and Typo3, but I'm curious to hear of any that people recommend. Preferably, I'm after one that has embargo/automatic expiry features, can integrate with MS Outlook, and can send email alerts to content authors.

Cheers

I'm not too familiar with this feature - I've heard that some CMS can integrate with Outlook. It's probably more for intranets, where functions can be developed that allow staff to schedule meetings and resources via the intranet, linking to the Calendar function in Outlook...

In terms of a CMS, unless you need something very powerful, I've found that using Wordpress is the easiest way, especially if you have not-so-computer literate people having to edit/create pages. I've used it for a website I've made for a non-profit organisation, and so far its working very well.
