483572 2006-09-09 23:37:00 Ah somehow, I dont think simple file sharing is in Home only Pro.

Thats why u cant see it. I could be wrong. I cant remember if it had it or not.

Whats the PC youre on now? Home or Pro?

483574 2006-09-10 00:04:00 That maybe why then. I would start all over again and reinstall everything.

Not by copying from another computer, by installing XP from the XP CD.

Buy another hdd first.

483575 2006-09-10 00:08:00 That's another story: I have had a Windows XP upgrade to 98 second edition.
And what I have to do with thw new hdd? I have to leave the old hdd as master and the new one as slave?

483576 2006-09-10 00:15:00 No the hdd thats dying, whats the point in keeping it. Its nearly dead.

If u use it for much longer,it'll be completely dead. You wont be able to use it.

Thats why u have to buy a brand new hdd. So, u can reinstall Windows on it, and chuck the dead one in the bin.

483578 2006-09-10 00:35:00 get a new harddrive...........STOP using the old one NOW....or else it may go into catastrophic failure where it WONT be possible to recover ANYthing at ALL.....when you have the new harddrive IMAGE the old one to the new one......any program like ghost will do it, in fact some harddrive makers have free drive image programs downloadable from their websites...........you MUST stop using that old drive NOW or else theres every chance it'll DIE ........ drcspy (146)

483581 2006-09-10 05:07:00 As others have been saying, do not use this drive! Don't even plug it into a Windows box except when required to take an image. Get partition imaging software and follow the instructions carefully, using the drive no more than is necessary. TGoddard (7263)
