| 483574 | 2006-09-10 00:04:00 | That maybe why then. I would start all over again and reinstall everything. Not by copying from another computer, by installing XP from the XP CD. Buy another hdd first. |

| 483575 | 2006-09-10 00:08:00 | That's another story: I have had a Windows XP upgrade to 98 second edition. And what I have to do with thw new hdd? I have to leave the old hdd as master and the new one as slave? |

| 483576 | 2006-09-10 00:15:00 | No the hdd thats dying, whats the point in keeping it. Its nearly dead. If u use it for much longer,it'll be completely dead. You wont be able to use it. Thats why u have to buy a brand new hdd. So, u can reinstall Windows on it, and chuck the dead one in the bin. |

| 483581 | 2006-09-10 05:07:00 | As others have been saying, do not use this drive! Don't even plug it into a Windows box except when required to take an image. Get partition imaging software and follow the instructions carefully, using the drive no more than is necessary. | TGoddard (7263) | ||
