2006-09-08 03:05:00 | Is the "yellow" because of a missing driver? I would have thought it would be included in the chipset package. Might USB be disabled in the BIOS? :D

2006-09-08 04:06:00 | This is Win XP? You need at least SP1. USB isn't included in the chipset drivers now for that reason. Although without SP1 it should at least default to being USB1.1. Try removing it from device manager, reboot and see if XP puts it back correctly.

2006-09-08 07:39:00 | Thanks for your replies, Sorry, I didn't explain the situation very good, i am trying to dual boot using win 2000 first and XP sp2 second install, i have had no problems with the XPsp2, but i am with win 2000, the USB driver i mean. I tried uninstalling and rebooting but that didn't work, probably because its win/k and not XP. The m/board didn't come with a cd/manual or even the normal box as i got it at a very reasonable price, [some stuff up with another customer] who never returned those items. The only download drivers at Gigabyte support for this board, is Audio, chipset, and LAN. The specs are - Gigabyte , GA-81PE1000-W, Version 6.2.1.1001. As i look at the device manager page, above the yellow mark on USB controller, it says Intel [R] 82801EB USB universal host controller x 4 times. So i have been going around in circles at Intel, punching in that ID, but nothing comes up.

2006-09-08 08:04:00 | it says Intel [R] 82801EB USB universal host controller x 4 times. Did u delete these entries and reboot? If not delete them and reboot.

2006-09-08 08:21:00 | Tried that Speedie but still nothing, the weird bit is that it says that it has found a driver in c/drive and its suppose to install it, but nothing changes still. | Ron40 (10475) | |
