| 483919 | 2006-09-11 07:20:00 | Hi there, Is there any software product out there I can download to act as an answerphone instead of paying for Call minder? If so, can you create menu options eg If you want such and such press 1 press 2 etc so people can leave different messages in different voice mailboxes. Even better if it is freeware! Cheers, G |

But its not all that good in practice, unless you have a very good external serial RS232 dial-up modem, you are likely to get glitches that means the modem fails to disconnect etc with cheap internal modems. Played with software a few years back (software was budled with a good modem) but a stand-alone answerphone was still much better. People are less than impressed having to listen to a message and press a key etc, they hate it with a vengance with banks and teleco's, why would you subject them to more? But still none are as convenient as Call Minder. |
