Is this case/psu any good quality wise? www.qmb.co.nz

Also... that AOC monitor. Would there be much of a visible quality difference between that and a philips 19" ?

I don't trust the PSU in the case. Get a cheap case on TM and an Enermax PSU.

As for the AOC its fine. They have a 3yr onsite warranty too.

483735 2006-09-11 23:00:00 Ok, so it looks like PSU is the main part you shouldn't skimp on. I will go for an Enermax. Thanks :) mejobloggs (264)
483736 2006-09-11 23:02:00 Wait, what about something like this? www.playtech.co.nz

Are thermaltake PSU's ok? Because that's an ok price considering a decent quality PSU can cost around that much.

483737 2006-09-12 01:03:00 Thermaltakes arent too bad, ive got a 420w Purepower here, but wouldnt ever buy one again. The first one crapped itself after about 6months, but it was replaced and has been going solid for over 2yrs. The best advice is to skimp on the case and get a decent PSU, but if you insist on a "pretty" case then the above option is ok. Pete O'Neil (6584)
483738 2006-09-12 04:12:00 Yeah, but if the PSU in that case is a decent one, then wouldn't the PSU be taking up most of the price, and therefore the 'pretty' case isn't really that expensive? Only $60 or something?

And a better link would have been: www.playtech.co.nz which is a bit cheaper.

483739 2006-09-12 06:30:00 You can pick up a Thermaltake 420w for about $80, so do the maths and you'll have a fairly good idea of how expensive the case is. If you really cant bring yourself to spend the money on an Enermex or Antec, then a Thermaltake will suffice.

Theres a really good PSU sticky over at OCNZ, havent been there for a while so cant remember the link sorry. The guy that wrote it, Swifty, really knows he stuff.
