1406713 2015-08-15 23:53:00 Hi Guys,
I want to upgrade my nice acer one 522 to an ssd and get to use all my 4GB ram by upgrading win 7 starter.
Is there an economical way of doing it ? The win 7 product key purchase has me a bit puzzled, surely I don't need to shell out over a $100 for a legit one ? ( I don't want 8 or 10 :)
cheers for any suggestions
Pete

1406714 2015-08-16 03:21:00 Yup you'll have to buy another dvd. I dont think the starter key will work with another version Speedy Gonzales (78)

1406716 2015-08-16 03:33:00 Increase your GB RAM.

start with: 8GB

Look for SSD. vs. HDD
DuraWrite(TM) technology?
non-volatile TBW (total bytes written) increases retainability reliability and performance
Solid-State Drive 480GB
Is this the max? we want min 2 TB SSD !!

Are you buying from Microsoft store?
store.microsoft.com

What we want is Windows 7 product key.
search for "Windows 7 product key"

WYSIWYG - what you see is Windows 10.

Win 10 is "unproprietary, images bigger than text" interface.
Its like calling the "Start button" something other than the words "Start"

I personally tend to avoid anything (purportedly) higher-version than Windows 7.
Because reportedly, conjunctive-disjunctively, analyzed systematically,

surprise entry into options :)
Seems to bind tightly with all their bings and crud.
I though they got pinged $m years ago for making IE the only game in town
spose it's a new century ...

1406720 2015-08-16 04:07:00 You'll have to install another version if you want 4 or 8 gb anyway. I think Win10 Home only supports up to 4 GB

Probably better if you upgrade to Win10 from 7 starter.

Windows 10 Home 64-bit supports 128GB. 32-bit (any edition) supports 4GB.

1406722 2015-08-16 04:23:00 You'll run into problems.

search for "Windows 7 product key"By searching to Product keys all you'll get is pirated /illegal keys, you WONT get any legit keys.

Windows 7 Starter will only allow 2GB Memory. Its also only 32-Bit, so even doing a upgrade to W10 Home for free you'll only get a 32-Bit Version.

The maximum amount of Memory it will take is 4GB.
