1397855 2015-04-02 21:57:00 Well looks like the BBC have gone and shot themselves in both feet. It will join the Aussie and American versions -- Total rubbish.

James May and Richard Hammond are out of contract with the BBC, after declining to sign new deals to present the next series of Top Gear.

Some other studio may do very well from the trio:

Mind you, there will be years of reruns.

1397856 2015-04-03 00:30:00 I heard that one of the writers and a producer had also decided to leave.. The show is basically dead now.. paulw (1826)
1397857 2015-04-03 03:12:00 Both James May & Richard Hammond have shows of their own. Jeremy is a prolific author of books and magazine articles. They will probably take a break for a while, and maybe do something together later when Jeremy has sorted his demons. They all have plenty of money so the don't need Top Gear. mzee (3324)
1397858 2015-04-03 04:42:00 They all have plenty of money so the don't need Top Gear. So true, Its Top Gear that needs them. The other versions are a weak attempt to copy and no where as entertaining. Theres just "something" about the combo of Richard, James and Jeremy.

Some things just "Stick" A couple that come to mind -- Richard Hammond -- "I'm a Driving God" And James May -- Captain Slow

1397859 2015-04-03 06:34:00 Chances are it'll never be as good again, but you never know. They aren't the only 3 funny guys on the planet that could work well together and if anyone can find worthy replacements it's the British. Aussies & Americans are hardly ever as funny as the British on TV so they have a head start already. I never watch car shows but then top gear came along and changed that. I'm kinda hoping it won't die. dugimodo (138)
1397860 2015-04-04 01:39:00 The only person that done any shooting in the foot was Clarkson himself, he not only done it repeatedly but escalated it each time and dared the powers to be to act against him.

Still, bring him back, on the proviso that any time he upsets anyone they get to verbally abuse him, threaten his livelihood and punch him in the face.

Pretty sure if the shoe was on the other foot he wouldn't be quite the tosspot ****** he is today.

1397861 2015-04-09 21:29:00 Watched the last Clarkson episode last night, rather enjoyed it as they were at Lyddon Hill where May was racing. That was my closest race track to where I grew up it's near Dover, my best mate raced mini's there in the 90's and I raced cycles there on Tuesday evenings in the 90's. gary67 (56)
