2015-03-23 01:24:00 | I'm still thinking about the car, but now I'm also considering changing the TV for a slightly larger model. Because of where it will sit I don't think anything larger than about 42" is going to work, but apart from that I'm open to all suggestions - LCD? LED? OLED? Plasma? I'm not particularly fussed about all the "smart" TV stuff although I suspect that pretty much comes as standard these days. For comparison purposes, I currently have a Samsung 32" LA32A650. Although the limit is not the sky, I'm more interested in quality than price. So - suggestions?

I would be going for a high hertz model <50inch and you should get something for what you need for well under 1k, there are some amazing deals to be had at the moment. www.harveynorman.co.nz/tv-and-audio/televisions/led-lcd-televisions/samsung-48-full-hd-smart-led-lcd-tv.html Move some shite out of the way for a 50 inch..!! |

2015-03-23 01:53:00 | Move the window...!!! Na just kidding.. Bummer that. My SO has a Sharp with high hz (200hz i believe) and the picture quality and smoothness is light years better than my sony bravia (100hz). Im sold on the picture quality alone, bonus is it is 3d too! It also has facebook skype etc but total waste of time trying to use the remote control on this. Would rather have a pc media setup hooked up on it.

2015-03-23 02:21:00 | Is the 3D actually worth it? I certainly didn't have it on the list of requirements. | Tony (4941) | |

2015-03-23 07:01:00 | Just looking on Dick's Mrs website at printers and noticed this www.dicksmith.co.nz Also this one www.dicksmith.co.nz Looks like the Deal but ends tonight, even though it's a 55" look at the width as older ones have a thicker Bezel so maybe only a little bigger I have a LA40C650 and would get another Sammie ;)

2015-03-23 07:59:00 | I've owned 3 LCD TVs and 1 cheap plasma. The plasma is a much nicer screen. Some of the nicer LED LCD TVs are possibly better but plasma has some inherent advantages. Pity it's losing out in the market and will likely disappear but I'm very happy with mine. For the cheaper models plasma all the way, more expensive models there's a lot less in it and it becomes about brand and features. I was not interested in 3D at all but last time I previewed one in the shop I was very impressed and wondered if it was the right choice not getting one.
