1396984 2015-03-28 19:04:00 I don't know where the indecisive tag came from, apart from Cicero, but the iffy hearing is certainly correct. Maybe I was subconsciously jolted by being unjustifiably called indecisive, but I was in JB HiFi and saw and listened to the box and went for it. The things that decided it for me:

Compact
Could sit under the TV
Sounded very clear
Although more expensive, not excessively so.
No other extra speakers or wires to worry about.

I'm sure I could have spent more time and maybe come to a different decision, but I didn't want to give Cicero the satisfaction. :)
I've got it all installed - piece of cake, and it does sound great. I didn't need to use my headphones at all yesterday, and when I tried them to compare, they were definitely "muddier" than the sound coming from the Bose box. I can also still use the original minisystem if I want to for CDs/radio/tapes(!!) with the sound coming from the ceiling speakers. I will have to reconfigure my Harmony remote but I think I'll wait 'til I get the TV before I do that. It looks like I can fit a 48-50" screen into the space, so it shouldn't take long to decide now.

Face it, you will never be described a decisive round this neck of the woods.

That is the last I shall say on the matter, as I believe in not feeding the trolls.

1396987 2015-03-29 04:44:00 I've done the deed. Bought a Samsung UA48H5500 (www.harveynorman.co.nz) from Harvey Norman.

Even though it is 48" instead of my 32" previous Samsung it is much lighter, and it also turns on much quicker than the old one - something that really used to irritate me. It is all installed and is currently doing who knows how many gigabytes of over the air updates. Before I could set up the smart stuff I had to agree to terms and conditions of course - 51 screen pages! And then there were the privacy ones as well! I took the easy route I'm afraid and just clicked agree to all of them, so I hope I haven't signed up for anything too nasty.

So the TV is all sorted - just the car and the PC to do now. Thanks everyone for the advice and tips.
