| 1397794 | 2015-04-02 18:53:00 | I say no more privy council, it would save the country a lot of money There wont be, I think this may be the last case that could be sent to the Privy Council. But what to replace it with ? The New Zealand courts of appeal are probably too 'incestuous' with all the judges knowing each other maybe having been to law school together, drink and dine at the same places and clubs, or having been involved in the original cases. At least the Privy Council was independent and more remote from the NZ system, and able to consider cases without political pressures. |

| 1397799 | 2015-04-04 07:54:00 | So, Lundy has now been taken into a remote location and shot? Unfortunitly the reliability of the nz justice system that would be a bad idea, even though I think he is guilty, he wouldn't be the first person in nz to go for a third trial only to be found not guilty |

| 1397800 | 2015-04-04 22:07:00 | Unfortunitly the reliability of the nz justice system that would be a bad idea, even though I think he is guilty, he wouldn't be the first person in nz to go for a third trial only to be found not guilty And there lies the problem . When your Police Commissioner describes a fellow officer, who is known to have planted a bullet shell in order to gain a murder Conviction, as having "integrity beyond reproach" you know you have a problem . Further, given the number of cases the Privy Council have quashed or sent back to be done properly, it is hard to trust our Legal System even though Im in favour of Capital Punishment . Start holding Police accountable for their actions I say . |
