1397267 2015-03-26 00:00:00 He certainly was quick witted with an amusing way with words.

Hard not to believe what people say you are.

I just love the smell of the tall poppies that are coming into blossom in this thread......

:(

Exactly.
Clarkson was publicly dumped on, often, about all issues with the show.
He got the public blame for evereything, despite the fact that also involved were: writers, producers, directors, legal teams , management who all allowed
the controversial skits to be aired when any one of them could have cut that 10sec segment out. Its a semi scripted show, yet Clarkson was allways the
only one to get dumped on for things like the scripted (racist) 'slope' joke .

One of the worlds most popular show's some how couldnt arrange a hot meal after an all day shoot . That beggars belief given the budget they would be working with.

Boo hoo...........No excuse for bullying or abuse, let alone a physical assault.

He has achieved a well deserved pratdom, to go along with his various other intemporate personal disasters.

As for the racist issue, he is not a man for scripts, he ad-libs, in fact it is quite clear that Top Gear shows are/were relatively unstructured, just as it is patently obvious that the US version is carefully scripted. The really unbroadcastable stuff ended up on the UK editor's floor.

1397271 2015-03-26 05:28:00 So he punched a pom hardly crime of the century. There was a a punch a pom a day campaign in Oz a few years ago so its not much of a biggy.
I wouldnt call him a racist just a funny bugger.

Top Gear with the BBC is over, both May and Hammond have said they are a package

Would think there would have been a contingency plan between Wilman and the 3 buccaneers in the event of something going wrong

1397276 2015-03-26 21:14:00 Seems the BBC are going to carry on with a new trio . They will have to start from scratch & rebuild the brand, & in this day & age its unlikely they will
be given a few years to get it right.

so who would be good replacements? Career suicide for those who try ?
Vicki Butler-Henderson?
Rowan Atkinson?
JK?
3x stigs who say nothing the whole show ?
The purple Tellytubbie?
Jay Leno would be great (Check out is youtube channel) . Somehow I doubt he would be interested.
