1397056 2015-03-28 05:55:00 Trying the free month at the moment. So far it's ok, the most impressive part and the thing that'll kill lightbox if they don't catch up is the device support.

Lightbox works on my PC, and my PS3. Netflix does as well, but also on my phone and my tablet. And that's just me. They list a decent amount of hardware support on their site.
NZ content is ok, will keep me entertained for a little while at least.

1397057 2015-03-28 19:24:00 We are still waiting for the network upgrade here.
We will go from ADSL to ADSL2
Big Whoop.

At present we get close to dial-up speed (not joking) during the day, even less at 9PM

Watching any streaming video is an exercise in frustration.
And updating a PC means leaving it overnight

Ah well, these are the joys of living 'Away from it all'
It's still better than living in Jafaland. :p

1397058 2015-03-28 19:29:00 Can't see us signing up for any of the streaming services until their is one that has Everything we want to watch on it. I certainly won't be paying for several services that's just plain dumb. gary67 (56)
1397059 2015-03-28 21:07:00 keep in mind it will use your data while playing so if you have a low limit it could get sucked up easily over a short time.Yep. I only watched 4.5 episodes of Stargate Atlantis yesterday before my cap hit 95%. Oops. I signed up for the free month standard package so that is HD when available. Probably not the best option with a smaller cap.

I have been meaning to re-evaluate my choice of ISP/packgage since the change with how Chorus charges providers. Better stop procrastinating and sort it now.

As an aside, Netflix works great with Chromecast and my Android tablet.

Using a unblock us service you can access all the different netflix services giving ample content plod (107)
1397061 2015-03-28 22:58:00 Just playing about with Windows 8.1 Media Center which is under the and connected to the TV. Its meant to use Netflix -- ;)

If it doesn't work, may need to buy Apple TV, dont really want to use a mobile device to connect. Rather have ( heaven forbid) another remote lol.

1397063 2015-03-29 02:02:00 But that's not legalYes it is. Just against there t and c. But even netflix said it wouldn't actively enforce it plod (107)
1397064 2015-03-29 04:20:00 Pretty sure there is precedent in the states for T&Cs not being legally enforceable. icow (15313)
1397065 2015-03-29 04:38:00 Is there a list somewhere of what they have available for NZ? Agent_24 (57)
