| 1406760 | 2015-08-18 07:25:00 | Honestly if you've had 1 bluescreen in a year I wouldn't put too much effort into figuring it out unless it happens again. Even a perfectly good machine with no issues can have the occasional crash. If you have a crash that isn't software related, it's not a perfectly good machine, or you're overclocking too hard. |

You could spend days looking for a fault that doesn't exist, random stuff happens. If it happens more than once that's different. |

Random, rarely occuring faults that cannot be reproduced are almost impossible to find the cause, because if its that intermittent how will you possibly know when youve fixed it..wait another 2-3 months to see if it happens again ? |

I installed HWiNFO64 just to have a deeper look at my system(more info) and under the HDD section there are two yellow exclamation symbols for the boot drive which is a WD 1TB Black they are as follows [C5] Current Pending Sector Count: 200/Always OK, Worst: 200 (Data =5) [C6] Off-Line Uncorrectable Sector Count: 200/Always OK, Worst: 200 (Data =5) Should i be concerned?? |

| 1406765 | 2015-08-19 12:49:00 | It indicates your drive has 5 potentially bad sectors. (sectors which could not be read last time they were accessed, but have not yet been tested for write ability and marked as OK or reallocated) Of course 5 is a very small number in terms of any modern drive - though potentially they may have been the cause of your crashes if they interfered with the read of some critical data. What is more concerning is if these occurred recently, as it could signal that the drive will fail soon. (but I'm guessing you don't know when they first appeared) Sometimes drives will accrue a few bad sectors at some point yet operate normally for years afterwards. Sometimes the first few bad sectors are quickly followed by a whole lot more, or outright drive failure (like a head or the head preamps dying). You should only be worried if you have no backup or the drive is out of warranty. |
