The BBC should have stayed out of the issue other than to fine Clarkson if his contract permitted it Sorry, I disagree. If you had been punched at work by a fellow employee, would you be happy if your boss just shrugged his shoulders and did nothing about it? |

| 1397258 | 2015-03-25 08:40:00 | I think the BBC will live to regret the sacking of Clarkson, but they backed themselves into a corner and there was no other way out for them, without losing face . Sad really as the show had its moments Maybe, but I have felt for some time now that Top Gear had run its course . Too much of the action was staged for Clarkson's benefit and quite frankly, it was sliding downhill to be little more than peurile nonsense . I always felt that James May was wasted on TG, his other programs were insightful and interesting, and Hammond possesses a quirky charm, plus good driving skills as well . The actual studio sessions were not so bad, along with the 'Star in a reasonably priced car' segment, but the location work was only one degree of separation from the farce they called Top Gear USA, and that was downright stupid . Roll on the reruns . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Cheers Billy 8-{) :stare: |

This includes members of parliament who have been sacked and have jumped on the celebrity gravy train. I would expect within a short time to see Clarkson on Sky TV. |

| 1397262 | 2015-03-25 21:35:00 | What I can't get over is how blimmin pathetic Clarkson behaved over a silly warm meal. What an immature action, and he deserved to be fired. Easy to say without knowing just what his stress levels were with that job. He wasnt 'just' the presenter, he was far more involved in the production of the show. Working how many hours for how many days, getting back at some god awefull time of the night, who wouldnt be in a bad mood & angry. Possibly had just spent all day being put through some degrading skit (several times over to get the right shot) for the stories that are a big part of the show None of that makes it OK to punch another worker. He had to go. Top Gear isnt really a show about cars anymore, thats been tried everywhere & it simply doesnt work. Top gear is a show about the presenters, thats why it worked when all the other car show had failed (or just had very limited followings) Top Gear US started off trying to be a show about cars : fail Top Gear US is now a show about the 3 guys interacting with cars ,telling some sort of storey & its now much better. TG UK definitely moved more towards the US type of show in the last 2 seasons ... So who copied who :p |

But more a cross between a diva and a foul mouthed celebrity chef. |
