| 485158 | 2006-09-16 12:55:00 | I have a Buffalo WYR-G54 router from which I have been running two other PC using EDIMAX IEEE 802.11g wireless LAN PCI adapters with no problem at all. I have now tried to add a third PC using a Belkin wireless G desktop network card. (compatable with 802.1g )In the Belkin utility it connects to the router with a strong signal I get no internet connection, There is an Error message saying that the WEP key is incorrect and to edit it in the profile. I have done this and used the same passphrase as on the router and other two card but sitll there is no connection and the same error meaasge is displayed, AN IP address and mask is shown for the new PC but no gate way. I'm a total novice at this so and help would be appreciated its now got stranger have just tried with my wifes school laptop which uses a wireless card and again it connects to the router but says it cant find server then tried direct link via LAN and still no access Main PC access by cable lan PS running Win ME |

Disable all encryption on the network. Check that all connections are working. Try to minimise the time it is left open. 3. Add a WEP key to the router. Note down the key in hexadecimal form. 4. Try to connect with each of the computers, entering the key into each. 5. Report back. Does it work after this? |
