485701 2006-09-19 03:56:00 I had Adobe 5 working fine with Office 98. Have now upgraded to Office Pro 2003 and when I open a new document a couple of boxes open saying that the Acrobat PDF maker is known to cause instabilities with Word 2003 and to dowload update from Adobe systems Web site. I have tried to find this but cant.I have uninstalled Adobe 5, and run Registry cleaner, but still the anoying box opens when I open Word for a new document. Any suggestions. Should I uninstall Word and then reinstall?
Appreciate your suggestions -

485702 2006-09-19 04:57:00 The fault will not be in Word; it will be that removing Adobe Acrobat did not take out the references in the registry which associate PDF files with Acrobat. Office must check for those references.

But it can't be that hard to find Acrobat for download (www.download.com/Adobe-Acrobat-Reader/3000-2378_4-10349804.html). It seems it's not. I found that with "acrobat 7 download" to Google. :D Getting that and installing will give you Acrobat reader back, and should stop the annoying messages.

The add-in box for Adobe ( which is the only box showing) is un-ticked but the problem still exists. thanks for your suggestion. should I try something else?

Install 7.08 if its Adobe reader, you're talking about.

485706 2006-09-20 07:53:00 Hi - thanks for the suggestions re Adobe conflict with Office 2005.Have donwloaded Adobe Reader 7.0.8 and installed it and the "conflict " box still comes up when I open a new Word document. Ideally i want to get back into full use with Adobe Acrobat, but I guess I'll have to buy a new upgraded version.- or maybe use PDF995 instead. Any more suggestions. Spacky Spacky (11163)
