485520 2006-09-18 11:54:00 Dear all, I want to digitally fill in this pdf form (www.health.auckland.ac.nz) for my Bachelor of Pharmacy application. Is there anyway that I can do it so that I can print out the form along with the typed words? Thank you very much.

Cheers :)

485522 2006-09-18 12:59:00 James, I have just tried this, I've had it on my computer for a while, it seems to do what you want, the evaluation version will do it I think, it adds a red warning that it has been modified by an evaluation program:

Maybe tedious... but cheap:
Get PDF995 free/shareware
Print the PDF form on paper.
Scan it and load into background of word processor document (using 'header').
Write your details into the foreground of document (adjust line spacing to fit).
Print to PDF995 as a PDF file.
Good luck!

You don't need Foxit PDF Editor, Reader 2.0 can do it.

"Foxit Reader 2.0 introduces many exciting new features listed below:

* Interactive form filler: Now you don't have to print out PDF forms first and then manually fill out paper forms. Instead, you can use PC to fill out interactive forms directly, and then print them out, save them, email them or export the form data into FDF file for further processing."

485526 2006-09-18 21:36:00 Missed the Edit deadline. Jame's PDF isn't a true PDF form but just a PDF copy of a paper document so the form filling feature doesn't work. Foxit Reader does have an Annotate feature that works with an Evaluation Copy mark on the print out. PaulD (232)
485527 2006-09-18 22:50:00 You could try a program called SnagIt (techsmith.com). This is an image capture/edit program that also has a print driver. I think there is something like a 15 day free evaluation period - full-featured - it's about 26MB to download.

Print the form to the SnagIt printer, and use the image editing part of the package to put text in the bits of the form that require it. I use this method regularly.

Exactly the point that I want to make - that's it, it is non-editable and the forms can't be filled out. Thanks for the suggestion zqwerty, I will look into it later during the night.

Thanks roddy_boy :D

Cheers :)

485529 2006-09-19 08:28:00 James, you can fill it out content-wise on-line at the university website. Why not do so?

There are often protocols regarding the use and acceptance of such official forms, in that if you were to "edit it" then a lot of places would refuse to accept it electronically (or just bin it and not tell you), as you could also have "accidentally" (or deliberately) changed a word or two in the form which, if they accepted it by not noticing, could pose a liability later. Just be careful that you do not ruin your chances by an unintentional action.

If they wanted you to fill it out on your PC and email it back, they would have used Word as the format?

But just to clarify a point above, the form can be converted to Word using appropriate software (not free) but some formatting goes slightly awry. I tried it....
