| 485606 | 2006-10-06 23:50:00 | which downloads at 3 . 6mbps . . . Funny you say that - I had the same experiences with two versions of vista I have d/led - Beta2 and RC1 - the d/l was basically maxing out my connection . . . Normally I only can utilise about 50-75% of my "maximum" bandwidth . . . :waughh: --- As far as Vista goes - yes I like it, RC1 has come a long way since Beta2 but I still think work has to be done by both m$ and vendors - anyone had a look at the compatibility wikis? Problems - I have an ongoing issue with my network connection as it seems many others have - basically at random intervals the DNS stops working but just renewing my LAN IP seems to fix it . . . :waughh: I would use it as my primary OS if I could use ZA with it and the drivers (video, audio) were up to scratch . . . Mind you that probably wont happen until the final retail is released - I'm hoping it will be *usable* by the general public by SP1 . . . *thinks about XP pre SP1/SP2?!* |

| 485610 | 2006-10-07 21:13:00 | Term_X go here (www.microsoft.com) to register a Windows Live ID (if you don't have one) Scroll down to the DOWNLOAD Windows Vista section, choose your location and register your Windows Live ID. They will send you an activation code via email. Hope that helps. cheers chiefnz |

| 485612 | 2006-10-08 07:41:00 | I downloaded 5600 RC1 and ran the compatability test and see that I must uninstal Nero for it to work. My question is does Vista have an inbuilt CD/DVD burner and if not what burners will work with Vista? | Rob (6897) | ||
| 485613 | 2006-10-08 08:00:00 | Vista RC2 has been releaced... see here (blogs.technet.com) As far as RC1 goes, I am very happy with it, like the eye candy but then I am running it at full with no performance loss :D. So far most (95%) of apps work easily and only 3 crashes... but two of them were due to me :xmouth: :p I am going to run Vista as my main soon :D |
