| 485576 | 2006-09-21 15:07:00 | UPDATE: all I can say is that Murphy is an ABOMINATION and scourge on humankind!!! After successfully uploading 1.5GB of the iso, the connection terminated and now I have to restart the upload. You have no idea how p***ed off I am. Of course I could blame this all on Telecom's pathetic excuse for an upload speed of 128 but that won't make a difference, Telecom will just slot me into their ungrateful customer tray and continue to shaft me (at an even more severe degree of course just to make a point) If I was getting at least 512 then this would not have been a problem. I was looking at upgrading my plan but that would mean I'd have to take a 10GB hit in my data cap and incur an extra $20 for the added upload speed. However having said that... I will restart the upload and see if I can get it going again. Based on the last upload session it may take up to 48hrs before the image is available. cheers chiefnz |

| 485579 | 2006-09-22 04:19:00 | As far as I am aware it's scheduled for the 26th of October 2006, I will keep trying to upload in the mean time and burn the DVD's for those who have requested them. Sorry for all the hassle guys... I'm doing my best. Cheers chiefnz |

| 485582 | 2006-09-22 11:05:00 | To be perfectly honest I have no idea what you mean . Having spoken to Chill n mejobloggs, they are happy that the image is 2 . 5GB and may be able to squeeze a little more than the previously stated 100 d/l per month . Please explain a little more about what you mean? I'll try anything to get this working as sson as possible . Cheers chiefnz Don't worry about it, I was just blabbering along with other people . Cheers :) P . S . Keep up with the good effort, chiefnz! |

| 485583 | 2006-09-22 13:56:00 | Installed Beta 2 today on a Sempron 2800, 512mb ram, 64mb SiS 315 video card... Runs quite well considering the video card is pretty dodgy.. I like the new UI theme. Using it right now to post this. I like some of the new security features, hate the stupid UAC thing, turned that off. The new windows security centre is a whinging piece of junk. WMP 11 is nice, Windows Mail is a stupid name for what is just Outlook Express. Generally nice eye candy everywhere. New start menu is whacked, changed to classic straight off. As for changing system settings, it tries to be newbie friendly and just ends up being a nightmare.. had to go through several different random folders that aren't folders just to install my soundcard drivers Haven't dont much with it yet... first impressions are very mixed. at this point all I can say is that it's "Interesting" |
