| 485376 | 2006-09-18 00:03:00 | Running win2k with dial up 56k internet, so NOT always connected . All fine until just recently the PC is having one of the 4 running svchost . exe processes hogging between 98 and 100% of CPU processing power for anything from 8 mins to 22 minutes when it is started from a cold boot . :waughh: Cant end process in task manager . It wont allow me to . Dont have CD to install the win2k program that shows you what processes are running under svchost . :groan: PS . . . forgot to mention that I run Zone alarm Pro as a firewall, AVG as anti virus, Adaware, Spybot S&D and regularly defrag and diskclean up as well . Ideas anyone ? |
