| 486645 | 2006-09-22 09:03:00 | I have recently purchased civ 4, fm2006 and hl2, i am wanting to back up the original(i know what your thinking but this is a genuine question)disc, i tried to copy fm2006 and was told to enter the correct cd, and try again. Is there a solution to this problem or will the game developers replace my original cd/dvd when it is damaged? | tyronedark (11179) | ||

Is there a solution to this problem or will the game developers replace my original cd/dvd when it is damaged? Why back it up? Originals are longer lasting than copied media. Writable media is only ink you know and more susceptible to scratches. If you want to run the game without the CD, use a No-Cd or mount an image or something. Although in the case of HL2 you don't need the CD in anyway because of Steam. |
