| 486457 | 2006-09-21 14:35:00 | Hey guys i really wanna find out one thing.... My comp happens to crash rather often these days... it's only been one year old and it has abundant ram and cpu speed, but i can't seem to do some stuff. for instance, i can't lasso in photoshop for too long, it just crashes after a while. i also can't convert too many videos all at once, maybe probably only 2 or 3 then i'll have to stop. and not even mentioning some games or online java also crashing after a while/ and i can't do combinations of stuff, such as streaming radio and photoshop etc. so frustrating. when it crashes it just completely freezes, can't alt tab, ctrl alt del anything,. and i'm using win xp!!! sigh. my fd recommended me to check ram with memtest, and it froze on test 3 or test 4, the whole comp just crashes like it normally does.... i can't believe this. does anyone happen to know what's that i'm getting? Thx heaps, 2040 |

You think it has abundant ram but how do we know that as you haven't said what you consider abundant to be? Not being able to run memtest indicates a problem to me. |

Thx heaps, 2040 enocding more than one video at once ?, especially on a single core CPU, thats asking for crashes !!, no matter how much ram you may have. and when you memtested, you say it crashes ??, like, how, just freezes ?, you are talking about the bootablel version of memtest arnt you ?, get Memtest 1.65, any version higher than that is crud, as its not made by the original developer. |

| 486463 | 2006-09-22 15:31:00 | Not being able to run memtest indicates a problem to me. i just had another try at memtest, this time with memtest 1.65, again it froze at test 4, but the strange thing is that the test froze, the elapsed time stopped, everything stopped, except for the + sign that flashes next to the name memtest, and the _ that flashes on the bottom left corner i don't know if that has any relevance but hope that someone knows what's going on... thx |
