| 486187 | 2006-09-21 10:39:00 | About 2 or so months ago I purchased a brand new and very faulty Toshiba Satellite M100/F00 from our local Harvey Normans . . . I was confronted with the terrible blue screen of death on a regular basis, something about the biometric processor something something dying . I took it back, stupidly putting up with the evil BSOD for about a month . . . Since it was outside the initial warranty I had to have it repaired- and got it back with a new CPU and harddrive, it worked fine for about a week . Used it 3 or 4 times with no problems and then it just wouldn't turn on, no matter what . I took my poor 'Tobisha' :dogeye: (its nickname, my sister can't say Toshiba right) and its been gone for a week . I got a phone call this evening from Harvey Norman telling me that they've taken pity on me and I'm allowed to either get a new Toshiba or another notebook of the same price (I paid $1599) . I'm unsure what I should do, and would love a second unbiased opinion . Should I go with a new Toshiba (probably with a dual processor) or something else within a similar price range? |

They retail for about $2499......I thought Harveys stopped selling Vaio's!? I find Vaio's to be of pretty good build quality & in turn we don't often see many back in for repairs, in saying that you pay for it though as there entry level starts at $1999 and goes up from there. | 486192 | 2006-09-23 09:05:00 | I meant Vaio (typo)... I went in today after work and ended up getting a Sony Vaio VGNFS93G for $1699. I should be able to pick it up some time next week, fingers crossed it'll all work out fine. Its very pretty, way more attractive than my 'Tobisha', and a bigger screen (15.4'') Thanks. :) |
