486019 2006-09-21 02:54:00 Hi guys!
Telecom gives away single PC broadband modems until 8 October. We have two PC in the house, but use them at different times. We want one PC modem since it is free. PC are in different rooms. If I connect them to the modern through a splitter, will it work?
I reason that if only one PC is on, it should not matter how many PC are in the net connected to the modem.
Also want to use PC with Webcam for Videoconferencing. Would 2 Mb per sec be enough?

Thanks

486020 2006-09-21 04:13:00 I would just buy an 5 or 8 port switch as they are only about $20-$30 now plus the 2 network cables to connect the machines. The modem should come with it's own network cable.
If the free modem is only USB then this won't work though.
