485924 2006-09-20 14:02:00 I am thinking of purchasing the Legend 7950GT, it seems good value and something that would last a while. I just want to know if "Legend" is a decent manufacturer and worth buying? Div (11170)
485925 2006-09-20 20:32:00 Legend rebrands Pailt graphics cards.

They have a 2 year warranty. They're OK but not quite in the league of ASUS or Leadtek.

485926 2006-09-20 23:06:00 Legend is the largest pc manufacturer in China.
Its reputation is good in China because it offers affordable options (especially
when Chinese home users couldnt afford world class brands). A couple of years
ago it bought the PC and laptop business of IBM and is trying to be a world
class brand (includeing changing its name from LianXiang to Legend).
I havent used their graphic cards, to buy or not really depends on how much
cheaper they are compared to ASUS and Leadtek (usually considered as the
best two graphic card brands).

485927 2006-09-21 01:11:00 Ok thanks guys, I have decided to go with it- just needed to check that they aren't dodgy and the card will fry itself after 10mins of Oblivion (lol), seeing as I hadn't heard of the brand before. Div (11170)

The major share holder of the Lenovo company is run by the Chinese government organisation, in case you don't know who own the most shares. It took over IBM last year.
Now ranked at the TOP 3 world's largest PC maker. World class? Yes, it is but expensive products, they got service centres everywhere and mostly every part of the world, it means not to worry when your Lenovo computer break down.

Yes, you are right.
Lenove is called Legend (LianXiang) in China.
It is the best national brand in Mainland China. Its prices in China
are reasonablly cheap, in some Chinese cities, if you buy their
computer, you get free printer, free computer training, free troubleshooting
(come to your house) and the prices are still far below overseas brands.
There are some problems with it too, e.g. it was found putting desktop
CPU's in laptops.
