| 486846 | 2006-09-23 19:53:00 | Welcome to PressF1 :) What is your D drive? Is is another hard drive partition, that is you only have the one hard drive and it is divided into different partitions? Is it a separate hard drive (set as a slave)? Is it an external hard drive? Is it a CD or DVD optical device (internal or external)? What operating system are you using eg, XP or Windows ME? Having a guess it is your CD (or DVD) drive, can you still open and shut the drawer? Does it spin up if you put a CD in? |

| 486847 | 2006-09-23 21:30:00 | a prob like this happened to me last week. go to device manager (right click my computer, properties, click hardware, then click device manager) at the top of device manager right click the computer name (first entry) and select "scan for hardware changes" this brought back my dvd drive. might work for you also. | aidanmaz (7180) | ||
