I wrote an email to them regarding traffic shape. And they gave an unbelivable reply. why not do what they ask? it might get it resolved you know, ihug isnt how to get you. also what is traffic shaping? anyway, i cant believe max upload speed is 768kbps, what a utter let down dont ya'll think? |

Some one will give you a better answer but in a nutshell it mean an ISP give different ports/services less prioritizes then other, take for example http has higher prioritize then P2P have a read of this: www.orcon.net.nz _p2p_traffic/ this may explain a bit more on it. anyway, i cant believe max upload speed is 768kbps, what a utter let down dont ya'll think? Umm, I think you got confused between up & down. Up is only about 600kbps aprox Hope this helps :) |

Hi gum digger. i called ihug a few times and it was only the second last time that i got an honest operator who was really helpful. he basically told me yes ihug is shaping your account (unlike the others before him). and i have only used half of my peak hours & quarter of my offpeak allowance with another 10days to go. But i think after that phone call he took me off coz i noticed a jump in my dl speed. Happy :D So try giving them a few calls to annoy them if you have the time :P I call them as soon as im annoyed. Then again that was during term break when i had all the time in the world :P |
