You have to put the jumper on the back of it on MA.

And then go into the BIOS and make sure the BIOS sees it on Secondary Master.

And move it to the other IDE cable.

486909 2006-09-24 07:29:00 Your assumption that having the little plastic jumper absent makes the drive a slave is INCORRECT.

Forget the bios for now and inspect the HDD from the games device. You'll find info somewhere on the drives label regarding the required jumpers for slave.

It's possible (a fluke) that no jumper = slave is this case, but much more likely that you need to set a jumper to achieve the secondary status.

Failing having a jumper, leave it as MASTER (as it was originally), and use a second ribbon cable to connect it to your secondary IDE cable. You may need to change your CD/DVD to secondary instead though if it shares the same cable.

As for BIOS, various ways to get there, but try stabbing at the DELETE key during the early stages of booting up.

Which u shouldnt do. DVD's and CD's should go on the same IDE.

And hdd's should be on the same IDE connection as another hdd.

Not hdd's and CD's/DVD's together.

Especially if they're burners as well.

486912 2006-09-24 13:44:00 I just set my 2nd hdd to secondary master and now the error is Secondary Master Hard Disk Error! Motokid600 (11183)
486913 2006-09-25 05:37:00 If you were in Auckland I could try and see if I could format it here .

Other than that, if its under warranty and u have the receipt, take it back and replace it .

Are u in Auckland, or NZ?
