2006-09-26 05:52:00 | You can use 700MB during the peak hours (4pm - 12am) each day - that still works out to be just over 20GB a month! It's a lot considering Telecom has never released any plans with such massive cap for residential users (i.e. no 2c/MB overage). I personally feel that this is the best plan I've seen in NZ. I will give it a try once it's available.

2006-09-26 07:56:00 | At present I am on the cheapest rate offered. I note that under the new schemes I will be charged extra if I exceed the 200 Mb ration. My question is: What constitutes a download ? If I access F1 to browse through the postings is this a download ? If my friend sends me some pictures does this constitute a download ? If so then if I want to continue browsing the internet I will have to pay extra to avoid the extra payment on plan 1.

As you would on the existing one. My question is: What constitutes a download ? If I access F1 to browse through the postings is this a download ? If my friend sends me some pictures does this constitute a download ? If so then if I want to continue browsing the internet I will have to pay extra to avoid the extra payment on plan 1.Anything you do on the net constitutes either a download or an upload and both count against the 200MB allowance. |

2006-09-26 09:35:00 | We are on the Telecom "GO" Plan. Doesn't do anything for us. PJ | Poppa John (284) | |
2006-09-26 09:55:00 | Yes it does - you get faster download speed. You will now get "max". I thought he was the guy who writes the Xtra newsletter. "Max" here depends on traffic volume. We're off a small sub exchange with a very limited pipe. When traffic increases it just stops! Sometimes I can't connect for half an hour or so. Xtra tell me its probably the autodialler on my alarm, but an insider in the Telecom repair game tells me that the local pipe is so small it takes bugger all traffic to overload it, so fast is fine if you're the only one online in your suburb but otherwise its all just Telecon b*sh*t. Fast for five minutes then stop for thirty minutes averages out at real slow. | andy (473) | |
