| 487534 | 2006-09-26 18:46:00 | I am suddenly unable to download from the monthly PC World disc any programmes and in particular this months Beta programme microsoft Office word beta 2007. I just double click and nothing happens.I recently got messages from Microsoft that my Windows XP proffessional was counterfeit. The Windows Genuine advantage message. The programme was supplied by the vendor of the computer and I applied the WGA fix as reccommended by Scott Finney. That got rid of all the messages popping up and the computer works fine. Can any one suggest why I cant copy programmes from the disc? GAZZA |

SO why not do just that? Open up Windows Explorer and copy the actual files you want to a folder on your hard drive, then run them. |

Gazza Copy the .exe to your HDD first thentry running it. If it still won't install complain to PCWorld. But why bother? Office has never been free, yuou'd only have to buy a full copy later if you wanted it and I bet it doesn't have much new in it anyway. |
