| 487510 | 2006-09-26 11:04:00 | Hi y'all, My Outlook 2003 on WinXP Home has stopped displaying images in HTML emails - I just get the border with the X icon. I've done all the stuff (I think) in Options|security to allow downloads, but it makes no difference. I tried repairing Outlook from the install CD. This worked once, but soon they again stopped appearing. It all used to be OK, and I can't identify when or why it all changed. Any ideas/fixes? TIA |

Instead of displaying the image, Outlook displays the following message: Right-click here to download pictures. To help protect your privacy, Outlook prevented automatic download of this picture from the Internet. You can right-click on any of these messages in the e-mail to then view the images. If you do not like this setting, you can change it by clicking on Tools on the Outlook menu bar, then choosing Options. In the Options window, click on the Security tab, and then click on the Change Automatic Download Settings button. Read the explanation about why downloading images in e-mail messages compromises your security, but if you still want to change the setting, uncheck the box next to Don't download pictures or other content automatically from the Internet, then click OK |

This has only just started happening with emails from sources where I have had no problems in the past. 2. I have configured Outlook as suggested in the extracted text - that is my point - it still is not letting the images appear. Tony |
